Bagaimana Jepun Menjadi Negara Maju !!!

1. Di Jepun di ajar pada awal sekolah rendah sehingga darjah enam dengan satu matapelajaran yang dinamakann “Jalan kearah Akhlak” dimana pelajar mempelajari akhlak/etika dan cara berdepan dengan orang.

2. Tidak ada kegagalan/failure pada awal sekolah rendah sehingga ke peringkat tiga pertengahan, kerana objektifnya ialah mendidik dan menanamkan konsep dan pembentukan pribadi/watak, bukan sahaja pendidikan dan indoktrinasi(dictation).

3. Jepun walaupun salah satu Negara terkaya didunia, mereka tidak mempunyai orang gaji (servants), ibu dan bapa bertanggungjawab di rumah dan keatas anak-anak mereka.

4. Kanak-kanak Jepun membersihkan sekolah mereka setiap hari selama 20min bersama-sama guru mereka. Faktor ini membawa kearah kemunculan generasi Jepun yang sederhana dan minat kearah kebersihan.

5. Kanak-kanak disekolah akan membawa berus gigi yang telah di “disinfected”/sterilkan, dan mereka membersihkan gigi mereka disekolah setiap kali lepas makan bagi mengekalkan kesihatan pada usia yang muda.

6. Pengetua sekolah akan memakan makanan pelajarnya selama setengah jam bagi memastikan keselamatan mereka, kerana pengetua menganggap pelajar adalah masa depan Jepun yang perlu diberi perlindungan.

7. Pekerja pembersihan di Jepun digelar sebagai “Jurutera Kesihatan” yang gajinya sebanyak 5000 hingga 8000 USD sebulan, tertakluk kepada ujian bertulis dan lisan.

8. Di larangan mengunakan handphone didalam tren/keretapi, restoran dan tempat-tempat yang tertutup, dan dinamakan status ‘silent’ di handphone sebagai “akhlak/etika”

9. Jika anda pergi ke restauran buffet di Jepun, anda akan dapati bahawa setiap orang akan mengambil makanan dengan kadar yang di perlukan sahaja, dan tidak akan meninggalkan apa-apa makanan diatas pingan.

10. Kadar kelambatan keretapi/tren adalah sebanyak 7 saat sahaja dalam satu tahun, ini kerana mereka adalah orang yang tahu akan nilai masa, dan gemar kepada ketepatan saat dan minit.

Kenali emosi dalam diri sendiri 
Kenal pasti emosi kamu. Kemudian selidiki tanda-tanda yang boleh menyebabkan emosi kamu sering terganggu. Misalnya emosi suka, gembira, marah, duka, kecewa dan curiga. Semakin banyak kamu bermuhasabah diri, semakin banyak kamu dapat mengenali diri sendiri.

Kenali kekuatan dan batasan diri 
Tidak dapat dinafikan, sejak kecil lagi kita dididik untuk menjadi seorang yang seorang yang rendah diri sehingga menyebabkan kita tidak berani untuk mengemukakan mengenai kekuatan dan kelemahan diri. Malah ada ketikanya kamu enggan untuk mengakui kelebihan yang ada dalam diri kerana kamu khuatir akan dianggap sombong dan bangga diri. Namun jika ingin berjaya, hakikatnya kamu harus bersikap adil dan seimbang. Adakalanya kamu harus tonjolkan kemampuan diri.

Kenali perkara yang kamu suka dan sebaliknya
Tahukah kamu perkara yang disukai boleh mengembangkan minat dan pontensi diri untuk menjadi yang terbaik? Sebaliknya perkara yang tidak disukai akan menjadikan kamu lebih tertekan dan tidak bersemangat. Oleh yang demikian, kenalpasti apa yang menjadi kesukaan kamu dan apa yang membuatkan kamu tidak suka. Jangan biarkan perkara yang kamu tidak suka itu merosak mood kamu untuk seharian!

Kembangkan kemampuan diri sendiri
Bersandarkan kemampuan diri, kamu seharusnya berusaha mengembangkannya dan tonjolkan sikap menghargai diri sendiri. Elemen ini sangat penting untuk mencapai hidup yang bahagia.

Pear

Pear? Doesn't it looks like an arrangement of letters only? Is it just a fruit? Why pear is not as important as apple? An apple a day keeps the doctor away. Why this idiom uses apple and not pear? Well, I would like to tell you a story. Once upon a time, there is this man who likes to travel. His dream is to travel around the world and described the shape of Earth. At that moment, scientists haven't discovered that Earth is spherical shape. This man called himself Manny. One day, Manny planned to travel around the world. He wants to prove to people that the Earth shaped like a pear with blue and green. Manny not only want to prove his thoughts, but he wants to be well-known. Well, when people go for  travelling, for sure they will do some preparations. Manny did some preparation but instead of buying dry food for his expedition, he bought pear. He rented a ship from his friend. Inside this ship, there is a store room. Manny occupied the store room with pear. People think that Manny is crazy because the pear will start rotten when days pass by but Manny does not think so, and he challenged the people who say that he is crazy. Therefore, Manny started his trip. Whenever his hungry, he ate the pear he brought. About three weeks later, the people in Manny's  home town was worry about Manny. Because Manny hasn't reached his  home town, and the people in Manny's home town bet that Manny is run out of food because the pear should be rotten. Everyday, the people in his home town try to get news about Manny. After one month later, the people in Manny's  home town not only get worry about Manny's safety but Manny's condition because all along Manny get sick easily. Everyone in Manny's  home town was so sad because they thought Manny had passed away. Three months later, Manny reaches his  home town. Manny's  home town people were scared when they saw Manny. Later, when they found out Manny was really a human, they were glad that Manny could return safely. Since Manny was the only one that has the experienced in  travelling, hence, Manny was always found by the villagers as they thought Manny will have the best knowledge as said in one of the  Malay idioms, gain knowledge until China. From that day onwards, Manny's job is to help the villagers as well as telling stories regarding his travel. He also will describe the shape of the Earth as in the pear shape. Villagers who once thought he was crazy no longer laugh at him.

Elena Zafrul

My dear friend named Elena Zafrul. I first met her when we were attending the Science and Maths Camp organize by PERMATApintar. I cannot imagine how actually I talked to her. She was my room mate at that moment. I remember that I do not have the keys to enter the room since there is only one key for our room. Then when I actually clean my room, I talked to her. We love to talk and talk. And indeed she is a good listener. I told her my experience during the summer camp last year since I attend it for the second time and this was the very first for her. I remember she did asked me can she follow wherever I go. I was like...urm.. I don't mind actually but indeed I feel awkward but fun with this Japanese room mate. She helps me a lot and I always asked her what is her project about (actually she told me for more than 5 times and I kept asking) I just kept forgetting. I was proud that I met her. When we together in the PERMATApintar High School, we were not that close. We are just ordinary friends. She is in K5 and I am in K2. But, when I started to have my breakfast with Syar, eventually I learnt many things from her. Here again I talk more to Elena. Beginning this year, we always have our breakfast together, chatting, gossiping and so on. It is fun to have friends that are outgoing. When we are getting more and more closer, I get to know that she is applying for her universities. I may not be as lucky as her to get a good opportunity, but I am proud of her. The sweet and bitter moment we have together was really indeed will be in my memory forever. The best moment was during the camp. You were a great bed mate. We share the same bed and we will laugh very early in the morning. I remember the very last day of camp, I think I made you mad. I did it mean it by purpose. I may not even know what I am wrong at but you are just too cool to be my friend. You were okay later when I sat beside you. You are really great my friends. While you were busy with your university application, I still disturb you. I am really sorry. When you have succeeded applying and being accepted, I was so happy watching you being happy. Although I am sad that you are about to fly tomorrow morning. I am really sorry for not sending you at the airport. I felt guilty after I told ******* that I am not going. When I told him the reason I am not going he was like,...eleh nothing will happen. He really gave me a lot of words to encourage me to go to send you but I am really sorry. I am worried that I will cry there and I will just make you feel even bad to leave. This is for your future do grab for it I cannot make you feel guilty. I wish you all the best there. The most important is that don't forget us here and do contact us when you're free and most of all success there as how you are here. =D

I  so sorry my dear friend. I told you I'll be out for a while and I didn't assume anything will happen. But my guess was really wrong. While I was only out for about half an hour, there you go. I got a phone call stating that you fell down and you're last toe lost feeling. I was really in shock since I got the phone call. Now, all I can do is hoping you will get well soon. Hope can get out with you soon again. 

Salak

Thanks to Samantha for bringing one nice Salak fruit for me. A little bit explanation on Salak fruit.

Salak (Salacca zalacca) is a species of palm tree (family Arecaceae) native to Indonesia. It is a very short-stemmed palm, with leaves up to 6 metres (20 ft) long; each leaf has a 2-metre long petiole with spines up to 15 centimetres (5.9 in) long, and numerous leaflets.

The fruit grow in clusters at the base of the palm, and are also known as snake fruit due to the reddish-brown scaly skin. They are about the size and shape of a ripe fig, with a distinct tip. The pulp is edible. The fruit can be peeled by pinching the tip, which should cause the skin to slough off so it can be pulled away. The fruit inside consists of three lobes, each containing a large inedible seed. The lobes resemble, and have the consistency of, large peeled garlic cloves. The taste is usually sweet and acidic, but its apple-like texture can vary from very dry and crumbly (salak pondoh from Yogyakarta) to moist and crunchy (salak Bali). *adapted from wikipedia.

It taste quite weird for me since this is the first time eating this fruit. But it is a great experience for me learning a new kind of fruit. Thanks a lot to Samantha.

Racist?

Why do racist always happens?

Racism is popularly associated with various activities that are illegal or commonly considered harmful, such as extremism, hatred, xenophobia, (malignant or forced) exploitation, separatism,racial supremacy, mass murder (for the purpose of genocide), genocide denial, vigilantism (hate crimes, terrorism), etc.

"Racism" and "racial discrimination" are often used to describe discrimination on an ethnic or cultural basis, independent of their somatic (i.e. "racial") differences. Do racism worth it?

No. A racist person usually uses his race card whenever he has to prove a point, and most of the times or almost all of the times, the race card is used to ridicule the other person’s feelings and emotions. I am sure if the laws in some western countries are really followed then lots of such people will be charged for psychologically torturing people around them who are just interested in being left alone so they can do their daily chores.

Chinese Zodiac

There are several legends about how the animals were chosen for the Chinese zodiac. This is one of them. The Jade Emperor is the name of the Emperor of Heaven.

Long ago, in China, the Jade Emperor decided there should be a way of measuring time. On his birthday he told the animals that there was to be a swimming race. The first twelve animals across the fast flowing river would be the winners and they would each have a year of the zodiac named after them.

All the animals lined up along the river bank. The rat and the cat, who were good friends, were worried because they were poor swimmers. Being clever they asked the strong ox if he would carry them across the river.

'Of course' said the kind ox. 'Just climb on my back and I will take you across.'

The rat and the cat quickly jumped up and were very excited when the ox soon took the lead in the race. They had almost reached the other bank when the rat pushed the cat into the river leaving him to struggle in the water. Then just before the ox was about to win the race the rat leapt on his head and on to the bank to finish first.

'Well done,' said the Jade Emperor to the proud rat. 'The first year of the zodiac will be named after you.'

The poor ox had been tricked into second place and the second year of the zodiac was named after him.

Shortly after the exhausted tiger clawed his way to the river bank to claim third place. Swimming across the river had been an enormous struggle for him against the strong currents. The Emperor was so delighted with his efforts that he named the third year after him.

Next to arrive was the rabbit, who hadn't swum across at all. He hopped across on some stepping stones and then found a floating log which carried him to the shore.

'I shall be very happy to call the fourth year after you,' the surprised Jade Emperor explained.

Just then a kind dragon swooped down to take fifth place.

'Why didn’t you win the race, as you can fly as well as swim?' the Jade Emperor asked.

'I was held up because some people and animals needed water to drink. I needed to make some rain,' the dragon explained. 'Then when I was nearly here I saw a poor little rabbit on a log in the water and I blew a puff of wind so that the log would float to the river bank.'

'Well that was very kind of you and now you are here you will have the fifth year of the zodiac named after you.'

The next thing the Jade Emperor heard was the sound of the horse’s hooves. Just as he was thinking the horse would be the next animal to arrive, a sneaky snake wriggled out from around one of the horse’s hooves. The horse was so surprised that he jumped backwards giving the snake a chance to take the sixth place in the race. The poor horse had to be satisfied with seventh place.

Not long afterwards a raft arrived carrying the goat, the monkey and the rooster. They explained to the Emperor how they had shared the raft that the rooster had found. The goat and monkey had cleared weeds and pushed the raft to the shore. The Emperor was very pleased that the animals had worked together. He said the goat would be the eighth zodiac animal, the monkey the ninth and the rooster the tenth.

The next animal to finish was the dog.

'Why are you so late when you are one of the best swimmers?' asked the Jade Emperor.

'The water in the river was so clean that I had to have a bath on the way,' explained the dog.

His reward was to have the eleventh year named after him.

Now there was one place left in the zodiac and the Emperor wondered when the last winner would come. He had nearly given up when he heard a grunt from the boar.

'You took a long time to cross the river,' said the Emperor to the boar.

'I was hungry and stopped to eat,' explained the boar. 'After the meal I felt so tired that I fell asleep.'

'You have still done well,' said the Jade Emperor. 'The last year of the zodiac will be named after you.'

As for the cat who had been pushed into the water by the rat, he finally crawled out of the water but was too late to have a year named after him. He felt very cross with the rat and since then cats have never been friends with rats.

From that day to this the Chinese Zodiac has followed this cycle of years named after these twelve animals.
